Adam McKenzie

Adam graduated from the University of Queensland in 1994 and has worked in private practice for the past 20 years. He has been in practice on the Sunshine Coast since 2001 and now is the full time principal physiotherapist at Warana Sportscare. Adam has extensive experience in orthopedic rehabilitation (having had three knee reconstructions and one shoulder reconstruction of his own).

He is currently involved in a research team at the University of the Sunshine Coast assessing knee mechanics, anterior cruciate ligament injuries and special tests to determine when an athlete is ready to return to sport.

At Warana physiotherapy he has special interests in:

  • cervical spine/post-whiplash treatment
  • knee and shoulder rehabilitation
  • adolesent overuse and acute sporting injuries
  • the use of real time ultrasound for stability training post lower back pain
  • acupuncture.
