Dislocated thumb

Occurs after the bones of the thumb joint have been placed under unusual stress. A common injury in sports such as football and netball.

Carpal tunnel syndrome

Characterised by a tingling sensation and weakness in the hand, this condition comes about when the median nerve in the wrist is compressed. Exact causes are unkown but it is often associated with repetitive stress and can run in families.

Hand fractures

Hand fractures can occur anywhere along the length of the metacarpal (near the knuckle, mid-bone or near the wrist). Can present as swelling, tenderness, inability to move finger, shortened finger, depressed knuckle or finger crosses over another when you make a partial fist.
