Steven
Steven Bofinger has been in private practice for 20 years and in partnership with Anna at Kawana Sportscare (previously Kawana Physiotherapy Centre) for the past 15 years. Steven has interests in all sports injuries and has been involved with local club, Sunshine Coast and state representative rugby union teams for many years. Steven is a consultant to the Queensland Academy of Sport and has been involved with AIS athletes and teams including the Australian Women’s Waterpolo team over the past years. He is currently the physiotherapist for Maroochydore, Kawana Dolphins Rugby League and the Sunshine Coast Sea Eagles. Steven also regularly treats elite competitive life savers, surfers, tennis players as well as countless washed up former athletes.  His special interests include:
• Lower limbs and spinal abnormalities and their influence on injuries.
• Lower back and pelvic dysfunction
• Acute knee & shoulder injuries
• Acupuncture
   

     
 
Anna
Anna Bofinger has been in private practice for the past 15 years whilst producing children and keeping the books for the Kawana Sportscare team. She has a special interest in orthopaedic and neurospinal rehabilitation. Anna incorporates hands on care with gentle exercise programs to assist in the healing of conditions such as arthritis. She has a particular interest in the prevention of falls.     
       
 
Russell
Russell has been a physiotherapist for 22 years,working on the Sunshine Coast for since 1992.He is a consultant physiotherapist for the Queensland Academy of Sport,being heavily involved with the swimming program since 2003.Russell has travelled extensively ,both internationally and interstate, with Australian and Queensland  swimming teams.
His special interests include
• Shoulder and neck injuries
• Correcting muscle imbalances to improve posture and optimise sports performance and,
• Acupuncture
   
       

Adam 
Adam graduated from the University of Queensland in 1994 and has worked in private practice for the past 14 years. He has been in practice on the Sunshine Coast since 2001and now is full time at Warana Sportscare. Adam has extensive experience in orthopaedic rehabilitation (having had 3 knee reconstructions and 1 shoulder reconstruction of his own). 
He has worked both in Australia and the U.K.and while in London was involved with office/workstation assessment for office workers. He has a special interst in
• Cervical spine/post whiplash treatment
• Knee and shoulder rehabilitation and,
• The use of real time ultrasound for stability training post lower back pain
• Acupuncture
 
   
       
 
John
John Ryan completed a Post-Graduate Masters degree in Physiotherapy graduating in 2006 following a previous Radiography degree. He has worked at Kawana Sportscare since graduation and has developed a keen interest in sports injuries currently working as physio for Maroochydore Rugby Union club and Sunshine Coast Grammar School’s Rugby team.
Johns’ special interests include:
• Sports injuries
• Treatment of thorax, rib injuries & neck pain
• Use of real time ultrasound in rehab for lower back pain
• Chronic shoulder pain
 
   
       
 
Christina
Christina Machray trained at Otago University in New Zealand. She has developed a special interest in sports injuries through her involvement with the Sunshine Coast University’s Rugby team and has recently expanded her expertise on the benefits of pilates, hydrotherapy and women’s health. She has recently completed a course on hip dysfunction and is able to use real time ultrasound in the determining of muscle function.     
       
 
Annette
Annette Bezear has been with our practice for the past few years and has over 25 years experience as a Physiotherapist. She trained in New Zealand and has worked in many different fields of Physiotherapy  and brings her skills across these areas to Caloundra. Annette has a special interest in Womens Health and is very keen to help to encourage all women to be able to live their lives to their fullest potential and to be able to participate in all activities they desire without restriction. She has also worked for many years in private practice, for the Defence Force and also in the field of Occupational rehabilitation. Annette is qualified to provide  full assessment and treatment programs for all Physiotherapy, Womens Health issues and is a practitioner of Accupunture/Dry needling.    
       
 
Rachael
Rachael is the newest member of our physiotherapy team and has joined us at Warana Sportscare in July this year. Rachael has been working as a physiotherapist on the Sunshine Coast since graduating from University of Queensland in 2005. Rachael is a triathlete herself placing 2nd at this years World championships in Canada. She fits her busy training schedule around her physiotherapy hours. Her areas of special interest include
• Runners, cyclists, triathletes
• Sporting injuries
• Lower back and lower limb conditions and,
• The use of real time ultrasound and stability retraining after low back injuries.
   
       
 
Tricia
Tricia (pictured), Nicky & Emma are the friendly faces at the front of our practice and are always working hard to make your experience at Kawana Sportscare run as smoothly as possible    
       
 
Reuben
Reuben has been working in the musculoskeletal field since he graduated from Otago University in New Zealand. Throughout NZ he has been lucky enough to have worked in busy clinics with a large variety of injuries. Here on the Sunshine Coast he is using his experience in Lumbar pain, lower limb stability and biomechanics to ensure a great outcome with his patients. To help with his treatment of patients he has pursued courses to further his knowledge on acupuncture, biomechanics, spinal disc pathologies, and myofascial release techniques. He has worked with a local Soccer Club to help with their injuries and is looking forward to being involved with local High School Sports teams in the near future.

   
       

 
Rob

Rob joined our team in December 2009 following completion of a Masters of Physiotherapy Studies at the University of Queensland. While studying, Rob worked on a casual basis for a number of sporting teams across rugby league, rugby union and soccer, providing sports injury management and strapping. Rob is an avid sportsman himself, having represented Australian in Volleyball in 2001 and Queensland from 2000 to 2002.
Rob's special interests include:
• Sporting injuries
• Knee rehabilitation
• Chronic neck and back pain
